This issue contains two reports on National Survey Day celebrated in Hyderabad – one by GeoMap Society in collaboration with JNTU and another by Instn. of Engineers. Survey of India supported the programmes and also organised National Survey Day in Dehradun on 10 April 2018. Though it is generally accepted that Survey forms the basis for GIS, this does not get the deserving importance.
