Sir,

As per news paper reports, AP government is planning to take up re-surveys in AP ( Bhu Bharati) in 10 more districts. It is also reported that Digital Photogramemtry followed in Nizamabad District is being replaced with Total Station-based survey as being done in Gujarat.

As a senior professional ( Former Director, Survey of India ) I had been involved with Photogrammetry for cadastral surveys. In April 1998, GIS India was associated in organising an international seminar on the subject in Hyderabad where presentation of results of Nizamabad project were also made. According to this the project was successful with several advantages over the Total station based surveys.

Since we are interested in the right technology application and proper utilisationof time, effort and funds, , we request you to supply a copy of the report which has brought out disadvantages in Nizamabad experiment. We would also be glad to know the reasons for adopting Gujarat example.

Hoping to get a response at the earliest so that you can consider our views also before taking a final decision in the matter.

Yours sincerely

GS Kumar
